출판사 리뷰

작가의 말 오십 년이 지나 물방울 하나 경이로운 빛이 되었다. 두 돌을 맞이하는 손자의 눈동자에서 경이로운 빛을 본다. 2023년 5월 After 50 years a drop of water has become a marvelous light. May, 2023 책 속에서 아무리 휘갈겨 쓰고 다녀도 흔적 하나 없다 흰 구름 낙서마저 지우고 가는 소금쟁이 하늘 거울의 왕자 -「소금쟁이 설법」 However furiously its pen-legs scribble It leaves behind no trace It skirts away, erasing even the scrawls of the white clouds A water strider Prince of the celestial glass - 「Teachings of a Water Strider」 나무가 묵은 잎을 지상에 날릴 때 누군가 머리맡 꽁초를 멀리 던지고 쪼그라든 겨울 햇빛을 렌즈에 모아 겨자씨 햇살로 봄을 지피는 소년 - 「겨자씨 햇살」 When the tree sheds dead leaves to the earth A man lobs cigarette butts from his bed A boy lights a spring fire with a sunbeam of mustard seeds Gathering the shrunken winter sunlight into a lens -「A Sunbeam of Mustard Seeds」 석가의 위대한 깨달음은 말씀을 기록한 경전에서 나온 것이 아니다. 윤회의 사슬을 벗기고 벗겨 생명의 씨가 번개의 숨결처럼 스쳐간 궁극의 빛을 영원에서 발견하고 멸하지 않는 생명을 스스로 깨달은 것이다. 빛이었고 어둠이었고 광휘였던 그 깨달음은 생명이 빛이 잠시 머무는 순간 태어나고 사라진다는 것이다. 육신이 찢기고 거듭 죽었다가 태어나 생명의 근원을 발견한 석가가 도달한 궁극의 빛은 경전에 기록될 수 없는 찰나이다. 생명의 빛이 사라지면 경전은 폐지로 전락하고 말지만 구극의 빛을 체험한 인간, 석가는 그 생명의 광휘를 밝히고 경이로운 빛의 인간으로 살아 있는 것이다. - 「경이로운 빛의 인간」 The great enlightenment of Sakyamuni Does not come from the scriptures of recorded words. It is from his own enlightenment of immortal light That is the ultimate light he found in eternity, Through which the seed of life flits by like the breath of lightning Breaking the chain of reincarnation over and over again. The enlightenment which was light, darkness and brilliance Is born and vanishes The moment the light of life lingers for a while. The ultimate light that Sakyamuni who found the origin of life reached Dying over and over again, with his body torn, and born Is the momentariness which cannot be recorded in the scriptures. When the light of life vanishes, The scriptures are fallen into waste paper, whereas Sakyamuni, Human being who has achieved the ultimate light Is alive as a man of marvelous light, brightening up the life. -「Man of Marvelous Light」
