Chapter 1과 2는 초보자들이 반드시 배워야 할 과정이라고 생각한다. 이 과정에서는 시간을 많이 투자하는 것이 좋으나 시간이 없는 경우는 건너뛰고 보아도 무방할 것이다. Chapter 3에서는 분야별 어휘를 다루었다. 이 Chapter는 아이엘츠 시험에서 다양한 주제의 지문이 나오므로 분야별 지문을 이해하는 데 필수적이다. ● 이 책의 특징 ◎ 어원을 통한 어휘 학습 * 어원을 통한 학습에서는 어휘의 생성원리인 접두어(prefix) + 어근 (root) + 접미어(suffix)를 통해 의미를 설명하였다. * 어휘 설명에서는 우리말 뜻과 영어 동의어를 제시하였으며 동의어가 없는 경우 사전적 정의를 설명하였다. 파생어 또한 알아두어야 할 것은 아래에 표시를 하였다. * 지면상 표현하기 부족한 추가 어원은 아래에 제공하여 심화학습이 가능하다. ◎ 분야별, 난이도별 어휘 학습 * 어휘는 분야별과 난이도별로 구분하였다. 분야별 주요 분야 10개를 선정해 자주 나오는 표현을 중심으로 설명하였다. 일반 어휘는 학습자의 편의를 위해 난이도별로 초급, 중급, 고급으로 나누었다. * 시험에 자주 등장했던 어휘의 빈출 정도를 표시하였다. 숫자가 높을수록 IELTS 시험에 자주 등장하는 어휘들이다. * 아주 다양한 지문에서 영어 예문을 뽑았다. 해석 또한 영어 예문을 쉽게 이해하도록 도와줄 것이다.
